Lincoln-Way West student scores 1000 basketball career points
Lincoln-Way West senior Kaitlyn Ray has reached an achievement in her basketball career that puts her in the top player list.Kaitlyn scored her 1,000th career point in the varsity basketball game against Romeoville played at Lincoln-Way West on Saturday, December 11, 2010. Lincoln-Way West won the contest 40-29. Kaitlyn scored 21 points during that game. She has been a 4-year starter on the varsity team.After the game, Kaitlyn received a special plaque from her high school coach, Ryan White. The plaque read: “Congratulations to Kaitlyn Ray, for scoring 1,000 points in your Basketball Career at Lincoln-Way West High School.”“Kaitlyn has been a great ambassador for our new athletic program at Lincoln-Way West High School. She has worked very hard over her career, not only in athletics but also in the classroom, to accomplish the rare milestone of scoring over 1,000 career points. Kaitlyn exemplifies what a high school student-athlete should be, and we are very proud to have her as a Warrior at Lincoln-Way West,” stated Ted Robbins, Athletic Director.Girls varsity basketball coach Ryan White noted, “This is a great accomplishment for Kaitlyn. She has put in a lot of time and effort to help herself reach these accomplishments.”
